Gridnine Systems developed airline ticket booking service www.pososhok.ru for Infinity/STA Travel, Russia's leading corporate and student travel agency, in 2001. The service is connected to Galileo's Global Distribution System through XML Select. It was the first service that enabled Russian Internet users to make international flight bookings completely in their native language.
As the load has substantially grown since 2001, Gridnine Systems has developed a new version of the service based on cluster J2EE platform. The application was distributed between a number of servers, providing better availability, stableness, and efficiency of the service.
